There's some very controversial legislation coming down from the prime minister these days, and the students of France have been fighting it, in many cases closing down their universities in protest. Yesterday there was a rather violent clash between students and riot police at the Sorbonne, so today I went there to see what the scene was.

There were dozens of police buses and trucks parked on the streets around the university, with groups of CRS (riot police) standing around in armor. Many more lurked on the buses.
